Thereafter visit the CIC Hingurakgoda Farm. This is the biggest seed paddy production farm in Sri Lanka and it has absorbed modern agricultural technology and enhanced mechanization while protecting traditional knowledge as well as conventional agricultural methods. In the afternoon, set out on an exclusive private jeep safari at Minneriya National Park. The unique phenomenon of elephants gathering during the dry season cannot be sighted anywhere else in the world!
Climb the Sigriya Rock Fortress early in the morning. It was one of the most extraordinary artistic complexes of its time. Declared as a UNESCO heritage site this magnificent citadel allures artistic and architectural curiosity from around the globe. Afterwards get ready to leave for Mahiyangana. In Afternoon, visit the Weddhas (Aboriginals of Sri Lanka). Take photographs, converse with the Leadership, and witness the hunt with bow and arrow. Sri Lanka's indigenous inhabitants, the Veddas or Wanniyalaeto ('forest-dwellers') as they call themselves preserve a direct line of descent from the island's original Neolithic community dating from at least 16,000 BC. In the evening, visit the famous Mahiyanganaya Temple, where Lord Buddha visited when he first came to Sri Lanka after his enlightenment.
After breakfast, depart for Kandy, the Hill Capital (1514 – 1815 AD). Originally known as Senkadagala, the style, and character of the Sri Lankan civilization at the time is well articulated in the heart of the city itself, with its lake, the temples including the Temple of the Tooth Relic and the well-preserved ruins of the royal palaces. Visit the Udawattekele Sanctuary in the afternoon. Once the ‘Forbidden Forest’ of the Kandyan Kings and a pleasure park which probably goes back many centuries. The vegetation here comprises a fairly dense forest and a large number of endemic plant and fauna species. Endemic species include the emerald-collared parakeet, the yellow-fronted barbet, the brown-capped babbler and the rare three-toed kingfisher. Late in the afternoon, saunter around Kandy Lake, the atmosphere alone will make you spend a few moments here.
Apart from the breathtaking sceneries of the tea country and picturesque waterfalls, it is a chance for you to mingle with the local people. Upon arrival to Hill Country, visit a tea plantation and factory. Here you will enjoy the absolute tea experience, taking you from the moment when the young tea leaves are plucked from the plantation to being processed in the factory to make a steamy cup of tea. If you are interested, the tea factory is the best place to purchase good quality tea.Continue the journey to Haputale / Bandarawela. Arrive and check into your hotel. Spend the evening at leisure exploring the surroundings.
Start early in the morning and hike up to Lipton’s Seat for Sunrise. This journey will be accompanied by a short tuk-tuk ride. Lipton’s Seat is perhaps the most popular attraction in Haputale. Lipton’s Seat is a viewpoint named after the celebrated Thomas Lipton. Lipton’s Seat is a popular vantage point, from where Thomas Lipton would sit with a cup of tea in hand and proudly look over his estate. Today, you can still have one of the best views from the lookout, and there is even a life-sized statue of Lipton on a bench to take pictures with! It is recommended that you go early in the morning to avoid the crowds and the late-morning fog. From here you will see one of the most breathtaking views, as the sun rises, the hills turn from a dark blue to vibrant green, the sky transforms into a kaleidoscope of colour from lilac with a burst of pink and orange before finally turning blue… to say this view is beautiful almost seems like an understatement. Return to your hotel and spend the afternoon at leisure to explore the surroundings on your own.
Early in the morning with a packed breakfast to visit the Horton Plains and World’s End. "World's End" & the beautiful "Bakers falls". World's End is a Sheer precipice with a 4,000 ft (1,219 m) drop. The Sinharaja Forest Reserve or ‘Kingdom of the Lion’ is located in the south-west part of the island and is one of the last remaining areas of tropical rainforest in Sri Lanka. Sinharaja was designated a World Biosphere Reserve in 1978 and a World Heritage Site in 1988. It is an absolute treasure trove of endemic species. More than 60% of the trees are endemic and many of them are considered rare. The reserve is also home to over 50% of Sri Lanka’s endemic species of mammals and butterflies as well as many kinds of insects, reptiles and rare amphibians. Afterwards leave for South west coast beach stay. Once you arrive and check in, spend the evening at leisure by the pool.
