Overview

Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be welcomed by the Ayubowan Tours & Travels Airport Representative and Chauffeur. Transfer to Colombo via expressway for your stay. The following morning, travel to Kandy with a visit to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. En route, explore an Herbal Spice Garden, stop at a Tea Factory in Kadugannawa to learn about Ceylon Tea production, and later visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy. Enjoy a city tour covering key attractions including Kandy Lake, View Point, and local handicraft and gem centres. Return to Colombo for the night. Enjoy a full-day Colombo city tour visiting the National Museum, Gangaramaya Temple, Beira Lake’s Seema Malaka, Independence Memorial Hall, and several iconic colonial landmarks in the Fort area. Experience Pettah Market, Lotus Tower, Viharamahadevi Park, Port City, and shopping malls. Overnight in Colombo. Next, head to Galle via the highway to visit the UNESCO-listed Galle Fort. Continue to Madu River for a scenic boat ride, Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, Meetiyagoda Moonstone Mines, and Bentota Beach before returning to Colombo. On departure day, you will be transferred to Bandaranaike International Airport, approximately a 30–40-minute drive via expressway.

Itinerary

Day 1

Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport you will be greeted by the Airport Representative and Professional Chauffer of Ayubowan Tours & Travels. Your chauffer will drive you to Colombo and t will be about 30 minutes’ drive on expressway to the hotel in Colombo. Colombo is the commercial capital of Sri Lanka. Overnight in Colombo.

Day 2

After an early breakfast leave for Kandy visiting the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage en-route. It’s an orphanage, nursery and captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants. The orphanage was established to feed, nurse and house young/baby elephants found abandoned by their mothers. It is recommended to visit an Herbal Spice Garden on your way to learn about Sri Lanka’s world renowned spices and a lot of different herbs. Visit a Tea Factory at Kadugannawa. It will be a fantastic stop through mountains as you can enjoy a cup of tea (world famous “Ceylon Tea”) and also you can visit the tea factory to educate about the production with a Guide from the tea factory. Visit the Temple of the Tooth at Kandy which houses the Sacred Tooth of Lord Buddha. Visitors can observe poojas (offerings) the ancient traditions of drumming and sacred chanting in honor of the Tooth Relic. Visit a Gem Museum, Handicrafts Factory, and Handloom & Battik Factory while you go around the Kandy city. Conduct the Kandy City Tour to show you the (Bogambara) Lake, View Point of Kandy, Queens Hotel, Malwatta Chapter Temple Complex, Getambe Thotupala (Ferry). Return to the same Hotel in Colombo in the evening. Overnight In Colombo.

Day 3

After breakfast conduct the city tour in Colombo City. You can visit the National Museum, the island’s biggest museum with a spectacular collection of artifacts reflecting Sri Lanka’s glorious history. Visit Gangaramaya Temple. It is one of the most important temples in Colombo, Sri Lanka, being a mix of modern architecture and cultural essence. Stroll around the Beira Lake and see the temple in the centre which is a place of serenity called Seema Malaka. Visit the Independence Memorial Hall. It is a national monument in Sri Lanka built for commemoration of the independence of Sri Lanka from the British rule. Visit Colombo Fort where you will witness stunning old colonial-era architectural masterpieces such as the Old Parliament Building, Old Dutch Hospital. Witness the Pettah Street Market, Fort Railway Station, Central Bus Stand, Lotus Tower, BMICH, Viharamahadevi Park, Port City Project, Harbour, Teple Trees, Presidents’ House and Galle Face Green. Visit shopping Malls as per your interest. Return to the same Hotel. Overnight in Colombo.

Day 4

After breakfast leave for Galle on highway, Visit the Galle Fort, in the Bay of Galle on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, was built first in 1588 by the Portuguese, and then extensively fortified by the Dutch during the 17th century from 1649 onwards. It is declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Enjoy a River Boat Ride at the Madu River rewards you with an enthralling experience. Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery is the one of the very few hatcheries where all the five species in the country make their nests. Visit Meetiyagoda Moonstone Mines. A guided tour will be conducted, and you will witness the pitch of the mine and the filtering out of the precious stones and the workshops of the lapidaries. Visit the Bentota Beach and return to the same hotel in the evening by highway. Overnight in Colombo.

Day 5

After breakfast transfer to the Bandaranaike International Airport according to the departure flight schedule. You are advised to be there before 03 hours to the flight. It will be about 30 to 40 minutes’ drive from your Hotel to the Airport on highway.
