Breakfast at the hotel & leave for Sigiriya. en route visit Pinnawela. Visit the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, established in 1975 to care for abandoned and orphaned baby elephants. These huge yet gentle creatures roam the sanctuary and are fed and bathed by their human foster parents. Twice a day, the herd is led into the nearby river for a two-hour bath. You are welcome to join them and interact with them while enjoying the largest gathering of tame elephants. The baby elephants are fed with a special milk bottle by their mahout, or caretaker, and if you're curious, you can even watch them being fed during the daily feeding times of 9:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. Continue to Sigiriya. Check in at your new hotel and relax. Hike to Pidurangala rock to view the sunset. While the massive ancient rock of Sigiriya is steeped in history and is the main draw for tourists to the area of Dambulla, hiking to Pidurangala Rock to view the plains at sunset is a magical experience with a much more natural feel. The place was first used as a Buddhist monastery worshipped by King Kasyapa with many temples dating back to the third century BC, and now it offers a great adventure for all travelers. Explore the Sigiriya Rock Fortress which is a World Heritage site of 5th century AD, built by the King Kashyapa. Its home to water gardens, frescoes, ancient graffiti and commands an amazing view of Sri Lanka’s greenery. Make a Hiriwaduna village tour. You can learn about ancient transportation methods, agriculture and rice fields, irrigation systems, the chief farmer's house, and the lifestyle of the rural population. Experience the traditional Sri Lankan transportation system, a 30-minute oxcart ride through the green rice fields in the village of Hiriwadunna. After this approximately 15-minute canoe ride, you'll reach the farmer's house, where you'll experience typical Sri Lankan hospitality. Afterwards, you can stroll through his farm. You'll learn about different farming methods and vegetable varieties. Finally, you can enjoy a typical Sri Lankan lunch at the farmer's house. Early evening, continue to Polonnaruwa, one of the ruins of ancient Ceylon – the UNESCO World Heritage city of Polonnaruwa. Enjoy a city tour of Polonnaruwa by bicycle. Polonnaruwa was the capital of Sri Lanka from the 11th to 13th centuries. Polonnaruwa was a well-planned medieval city surrounded by a 5 km long city wall and adorned with palaces, shrines, monasteries, pavilions, parks, ponds, and irrigation lakes. Polonnaruwa is dotted with ruins that are in excellent condition. The "Gal Vihara," consisting of statues of the reclining, standing, and seated Buddha, was carved from a single granite wall and is considered one of the true masterpieces of Sri Lankan art. After breakfast leave for Kandy via Dambulla, Nalanda and Matale. First visit Dambulla cave Temple. It is the Largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding. Major attractions are spread over 5 caves, which contain statues and paintings. These paintings and statues are related to Lord Buddha and his life. There are a total of 153 Buddha statues, 3 statues of Sri Lankan kings and 4 statues of God and goddess. Then visit Gedige at Nalanda one of the remarkable archaeological sites in Sri Lanka & enjoying the Spice Garden at Matale and take part in a conducted tour to get some knowledge about the growth and use of spices in the day-to-day life. Visit the Temple of the Tooth for the evening ceremony. The stunning 17th-century Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) is said to house the upper left canine tooth of Buddha himself. This precious relic attracts pilgrims daily, dressed in white and carrying lotus blossoms and frangipani. Overnight stay at hotel in Kandy.

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Kandy train station. Take the train to Nuwara Eliya, also known as Sri Lanka's "Little England" and the country's most important hilltop town. Situated at an altitude of approximately 2,000 meters above sea level, the town boasts an abundance of lush tea plantations and breathtaking scenery. The nickname comes from the many English-style bungalows and buildings that still exist today. The train ride through the picturesque hill country is one of the most beautiful discoveries in Sri Lanka. From the rim of the high mountains, you can overlook the branching valleys of the mist-shrouded mountains, the lush green tea plantations, the villages dotted with houses, the dense forests, and the rushing waterfalls. Pick up from Nanu Oya railway station. Visit the tea plantation and a tea factory on the island where the world's finest tea is produced. Watch the tea pickers skillfully pluck two leaves and a bud. Then, head to the factory, where the all-important transformation into "finished" black tea takes place. The machines used here are very traditional British, some even 100 years old. The process is very artisanal and unchanged for a century. Observe the tea making process, the tea sorting, and taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea. Overnight stay in Nuwara eliya.

Horton Plains National Park is the highest plateau in Sri Lanka and is home to a unique ecosystem, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park's views are characterized by rolling grassy plains with occasional peaks, overlooked by montane forests. Most of the animal and plant species are native to Sri Lanka. Among the many unique animal species are the chipmunk, the giant squirrel, the brown mongoose, the rhinoceros lizard, the pygmy lizard, and the black-cheeked lizard. The park is home to a healthy population of sambar deer, which are frequently seen grazing. The most popular and easiest hiking trail is the World's End & Baker's Falls Circular Trail. More than 60% of all trees in Sinharaja are endemic, and most of them are very rare. Also half of the endemic mammal and butterfly species live in the rain forest, as well as reptiles, insects and numerous species of birds – the whole forest is teeming with life.
